Why SVG to PNG at a set size

SVG is a vector format and stays sharp at any size. That’s why it’s the best format for a logo. But when somewhere requires a PNG, it’s important to create it at the right size: a small PNG that gets enlarged later turns blurry.

Here you set the print width in centimetres, and the tool works out the pixels for 300 DPI: for example, 10 cm = about 1180 pixels.

How to choose the size

  • Chest logo: about 8–10 cm.
  • Main design on the front: about 20–28 cm.
  • Large print on the back: up to about 30 cm.

If you’re not sure, pick a slightly bigger size. A PNG can always be scaled down without loss, but not up.

In our online designer you can upload an SVG directly, without converting. It stays vector and is sharp at any size.

Frequently asked questions

Is the transparent background kept?

Yes. Everything that’s transparent in the SVG stays transparent in the PNG.

What’s the largest size?

Up to about 68 cm wide at 300 DPI (8000 pixels). That’s more than the largest print area on a garment.

Do the fonts in the SVG come out right?

If the text in the SVG is converted to curves, yes. If it uses a font your computer doesn’t have, the browser will substitute it. That’s why it’s best for text in logos to be converted to curves.

Is the file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.
